This now defunct simple eating place in Hetauda, Nepal is where I first learned how to eat with my hands and love the taste of Daal Bhat (Nepal's traditional food) and also barphi (a sweet). The cook was a Burmese Brahamin and the boys in the photo were always entertaining us. I have fond memories of this place and am thankful that language instructor and good friend Shivaji brought us there. This photo was taken in October 1974.
